If the appliance is cutting out after 15 mins it suggests this is due to heat from the motor?. Check/replace the filter and bags and feel the air temperature as it blows from the cleaner. If this feels hot then a cut out by the motor is stopping it before it damages. The cleaner needs air flow to dissipate the heat from the motor and if you are restricting the air flow by using a 'crevice tool' on carpet or upholstery then this can cause overheating. If all else is ok then it is likely to be the motor.
