• My WV50 wouldn't switch on and while halfway through dismantling the cleaner it switched on and wouldn't go off. I finally tracked down the fault to the switch. There's a tiny push button surface mounted switch that's sat on a PCB under that rubber on/off button. It's soldered to the PCB. The WV50 must have been dropped (no admissions by anyone) as it disconnected all the connections and left the button switch free to rattle. With a bit of jiggling it does make a connection and will switch on. Jiggle it a bit more and you can't switch it off. I was just going to re-solder the switch back to the PCB. However, there's a tiny (and I meant tiny) white piece of plastic floating around inside the switch too. It has equally tiny wires in it and it may be a thermal fuse or some other thing. That's why I've stopped to have a long think for the moment. These switches DO seem to fail and there's no reason why they can't be available as a spare. By Edz - Cheshire - 06 August 2016

  It is important to try and prevent water entering the case as it may cause corrosion on the electrics. This can result in many electrical problems from not starting, or randomly starting itself. If this occurs try drying out in a warm environment.

• Mine is doing the same I just woke up in the early hours to hear it keeps switching itself on , I've only had it for 4 months , does anybody else know any reasons why , I haven't used it for a few weeks . By Denise B - Birmingham - 10 June 2016

  Try emptying any water and leaving in a dry place as if water gets to the electrics it may cause this problem.
