Red charging light on constantly after charging for three hours and will not switch on.

Only used it about eight times since we bought it.

  • If the battery voltage drops to less than 1.5 volts or so, it will not recharge. However, you can "reawaken" lithium batteries by applying a suitable voltage directly from another power source e.g in this case, another 3v battery. To do so you will have to disassemble the Karcher to get at the battery, then apply the voltage direct to the battery terminals. A few minutes is all that is required to lift the voltage to the point where it can be recharged in the normal manner. I have just carried out this procedure on my own unit with success.     If the batteries have been allowed to fully discharge and left they may not recharge. The batteries for the window vac are not supplied by Karcher.
