how easy is this part to fit and does it need any other parts replacing ie seals whilst its being replaced

The problem with these motors is not usually the part you indicate but the Motor Rotor Assembly which lifts out inside the draw under the covers. Check that these spin freely and if only one draw motor is playing up swap with the other draw to prove faulty.
