I have an Advent D2207 desktop with a 19V charger with a 7mm? tip but won't power up. I get 19V at the tip. The socket on the computer has a tiny hole in the centre but there is no fine pin in the centre of the tip. Should there be?

Most computers use this type of connector, the socket will have one pin in the centre and a 'spring' that will connect to the body of the surrounding sheath of the plug.
