What does this part do & what symptoms would failure cause?
I'm trying to work out if my damper has failed. It would also be very helpful to tie this in with the symptoms which would be associated with that.

The damper controls cold air flow from the freezer into the refrigerator to adjust the temperature. if it has stopped working the fridge may either be excessively cold if stuck open or excessively warm if stuck closed.
