gorenje apm 6610 intergrated freezer. starts, runs a few seconds then cuts out. on light and fast freeze lights remain on. could it be the thermostat ?

If the compressor is 'ticking' after a few seconds then silent for about a minute before clicking on for another few seconds it is likely to be a compressor fault that would require a refrigeration engineer to replace.
