Empty water tank

Hey, we have 9k hybrid LG RC9055AP2Z tumble dryer, which has discharge hose into waste water from sink. Been working fine for years but recently it keeps flashing empty tank symbol and stopping after 10mins. If restarted it runs for 10mins then stops again and so on. I've checked the hose isn't kinked or blocked with fluff, tried moving it back to fill the internal tank instead but its the same problem. Can you suggest a few things to try before either buying a load of spares or sending the dryer to the big scrap heap in the sky? It's been a reliable servant until recently but typically out of warranty and LG have run for the hills on support or solutions. Appreciate any advice

This type of machine uses a compressor system to remove moisture from the clothes so if the compressor has failed you would require a systems technician but check the filters and look for any blockages first.
