Answer this Question (1 Answer)
- The fact that your fridge was icing up, is a sure sign that the thermostat was on it's way out. The thermostat stops the cooling effect when it reaches a set temperature. If the fridge is not cold now, this usually means that either the compressor or the thermostat has failed (more commonly the thermostat). An electrician can check the compressor by bypassing the thermostat. If it starts, then you know it is the thermostat that has failed.
