hi i bought this switch and fitted it but there is a wire hanging down i dont know what this is for

If this is the wire shown on the module in the photo on Stock Number: ES663923 then this is the temperature sensor and this pushes into a clip on the stainless door skin to monitor the water temperature of the wash cycle.
