Correct positioning of belt on tension pulley please. as ive fitted one and it lasted one week.

  • The video makes this look easy; it is not. The belt is extremely tight. To pull the belt over the pulley, I used the old belt and tied the two broken ends together and placed it around the new belt. By pulling on both sides you can get sufficient force on the new belt to pull it over the pulley. Please note, there are two possible directions the belt can travel around the pulley. Take the hardest route ie. facing the motor, the back of the belt must pass over the front of the pulley. If you do it the other way, it is easier, but the belt will rub on the plastic casing and disintegrate in months. By Phil D - - 15 December 2018
