would this help to start the electric motor

Answer this Question (2 Answers)

  • In fact, it isn't a voltage kick provided by the capacitor. The capacitor, which stays in circuit all the time in this type of motor, creates a forward phase shift in one of the two windings of the motor, and this provides the necessary difference in phase to cause the rotor to rotate in the correct direction. • Yes - Absolutely All motors need the kick received from the voltage lift provided by a capacitor. Once running, electro-magnetism does the job! By HappyC - Glasgow - 16 June 2009
