how do you remove the pin at the top of shock absorber to renew

Answer this Question (2 Answers)

  • Hi, the top plastic pin is part of the front tank half moulding, so it can't be removed. I couldn't get my drill in the space, so I carefully cut through the pin on either side of the shock absorber eye with an oscillating saw (you could also use a hacksaw blade). The old shocks & pin fragments could then be easily removed. The new shocks come with M8 steel bolts, locknuts & washers. You will need to enlarge the front mounting hole a little so the bolt will fit through it. By jimbob047 - Cambridge, UK. - 24 December 2014
  • If it has a plastic pin I think it has to be drilled out using a 13.2mm drill bit and replaced with a nut and bolt . By Tank - Surrey - 05 January 2014
