Tumble dryer not heating. Could it be the mechanical timer faulty as he service engineer says there are some bits inside that may have broken and Zanussi says to confirm this before scrapping the dryer?

Zanussi, Model TC7114W. S/N 23400273, Prod No. 916720602 00 Heater has been replaced and the thermostat but the I do not think the drum stat was checked.

    The timer is part of the dryer circuit which control the heating but the rest of the circuit would need to be checked with a multimeter.
