bosch hbn7052gb05 oven problem

the element on the lower oven stopped working and had gone open circuit I bought another one and fitted it and the oven worked as it should but after about two minutes the circuit breaker in the consumer unit tripped so I checked everything and could not find any problem with the wiring / fitting of the element so I bought another element and the same thing happens, im suspecting problem with the thermostat but before I purchase one could you advise if you have come across this fault before and if you think it is the stat Thanks
