Electrical connections are not the same as the old thermostat?

1. The thermal switch connections are not the same as the old thermostat. I have 1 black and 1 blue connected terminals to the left (looking from behind the switch); 1 black and 2blacks to a single connector on the left. The Diamond H new switch has two brass connectors to the left at the rear (the furthest left marked B) a steel connector to the right at the rear (marked A) and a steel connector underneath. 2. THe front (black) part of the switch - the selector - would put the control knob upside down if fitted to the existing wiring arrangement. Can I simply split the two parts of the switch and rotate it through 180? Thanks Roger
