hi ,we have turned our fridge freezer to 4 1/2 as the freezer was to warm ,now the thing seems to cycle from too hot to too cold , the drain in the fridge freezers and blocks daily .In your opinion would a new thermostat resolve the temperature issues

Is there a defrost timer on this model that could be to blame?.if you turn the fridge down it turns off ,if you then turn it up it doest come on for ages is there another temparature sensor involved?

    Chris at eSpares says...

Your appliance is designed to be in an environment that is continually above 50 F and if in cold weather the temperature goes below this the fridge will need cooling less and the freezer may defrost. If your appliance is not in a constant warm kitchen then it is not likely to be faulty and will play up during cold weather. If you cannot move to a warmer area run down the freezer content during cold weather to avoid food damage. A new thermostat will make no difference if this is your problem.
