Is this all I need?

I have read that in April 2005 Hotpoint changed the WD860 as follows :- The heater element changed from a spiral to a straight type, the fluff filter and water supply hose were removed and the 4 way water supply valve replaced with a 3 way. In June 2006 it looks like they decided it wasn't a good idea to incinerate the fluff on the heater element so they:- Re-introduced the flushing valve style heater box assembly and fluff filter. Does this mean that the new heater box assembly will not directly replace the old one? i.e. Will I have to change the 3 way water valve to 4 way and provide a supply pipe to the assembly?
