brushes have worn out after only a few hours use, commutator has uneven segments

unfortunately, I have owned it several years so the warranty is expired, I have new brushes but could do with some advice for what to lookout for

  • I’ve just checked one out for a neighbour and there’s two segments of the commutator blown out, apparently it’s only been used twice so it would seem that quality control might be an issue with these motors. By G J YOUNG - London - 23 May 2019

    If the motor segments are uneven then it will cause the damage to the brushes, the motor would need to be replaced.
