I have a KB4040 washer which has developed a fault, I ran it for about 90 secs then switched off. When I switched on again, the pump / motor did not operate but hummed for a few seconds with water dribbling from the nozzle at tap water pressure, Seized ?

It is a KB4040 1.636-101.0 approx 6 years old with very little use.

The reason it is switching off could well be an electronic failure, which would probably mean replacing the electric box. However before reaching that conclusion, check all the physical parts (the trigger, the hose) that control the auto cut off, as it could be a mechanical failure. With regard to the detergent hose, check it for splits. If it looks ok, it'll probably mean an o-ring has split or perished, allowing water and detergent to leak.
