I may need to fit a new housing cover, as the current one has been damaged when testing a partly-removed motor (overheating spindle touched housing and melted a notch in it!). One possible issue is that the cable that passes through the housing has a special moulded grommet on the end, which doesn't look like it comes off. Can this be easily removed? If not, is there a replacement grommet available from ESpares? I can't see one in the parts list for the DC07.
- Thanlks for the link. Alas, no. The video doesn't cover that part, as the cable remains captive inside the housing for the motor replacement. That's a good trick with the washing-up liquid though! I'll be orderig a motor soon, so I need to watch that video again when I'm ready to fit it.
