To ensure the door seal is correctly and securely fiited to you rwashing machine, the fastening ring (otherwise known as the door seal retaining clamp) needs to be in good condition. If you have noticed that the clamp around the door seal on your washing machine has seen better days or is actually damaged, it would need to be replaced.
