This could be fitted in any direction. The manufacturer will have positioned it in a specific area and as long as fitted in that position it will be fine.

Answer this question

I have changed both cooker elements and changed the Thermostat and i am still having problems. It stated with my cooker over heating so i changed the Thermostat then it wasn't heating up enough so i changed both cooker elements and now it heats up and cuts out, so would this be the correct item to stop that happening and is this the one that goes into the back of the cooker as the video shows how to put a thermostat in but not this type. Thanks Debbie Sincalir

This is a thermal cut out, a type of safety thermostat that if the oven is overheating it will trip out and reduce the chances of damage. This is worth replacing if the oven initially heats up ok but after a short while starts cutting out. Also check the cooling fan (if fitted) is running as if this is not getting rid of heat in the oven cabinet this would also cause this type of cutting out.
