This is not designed for different machines so the additional brackets are not likely to fit. A 'universal kit with a ratchet strap may be more suitable.

As long as the appliances are 60 cm x 60 cm and you can remove the feet or wheels of the top unit to allow it rest flat most stacking kits would be suitable providing they do not foul the doors.

This should be suitable for most Hotpoint washer and dryer combinations.
also can I stack the washer on top? rather than on the bottom?

Hi Raym9112, I'd recommend this kit: http://www.espares.co.uk/washer-dryer-stacking-kit You can stack either way round, just be sure yours isn't a condenser dryer.
