Cooker Hood Square Carbon Filter

This active carbon filter absorbs grease and moisture while cooking, preventing unpleasant odours in the kitchen. To keep your kitchen smelling fresh it is recommended that you replace the carbon filter every 3 to 4 months, depending on the cooker hood usage and type of cooking (fried, fatty food, steam etc.). With this replacement charcoal filter, your kitchen won’t linger with food odours after cooking again!

It's for use in recirculation cooker hoods and purifies the air before it reaches the motor.

There are 2 types of carbon filters refered to in the hood manual. one of them is dishwasher washable. Could you confirm if this is a washable one and if not refer me to washable version.

  • There are two filters referred to in the AEG user manual, however the first filter (Grease Filter) which is able to be washed in a dishwasher is just the external metal mesh filter. The second (non-washable, activated charcoal) filter which is located behind the mesh filter is the cartridge being sold here which is used for second stage filtration, protecting the fan motor from contamination. Answer this question

This product looks like a frame with filter inside. After several months' use, is it possible to just replace the filter (about £10, cut to size), and keep the frame? Or you have to dispose of the whole £36.99 unit?
