I have tried to get through on the phone to Dyson but could not, I can smell burning could it be the motor? Dc33 mulifloor hoover! ThankYou 2 Answers
- Probably needs emptying and the brushes underneath cleaning

If there is good suction from the hose disconnect the bin and if the smell occurs with the agitator turned off by the clutch in the parked position it is likely to be a faulty motor.
Today I was vacuuming and my DC33 (uk model) stopped working, motor wound down and then there was a slight burning smell, left it to cool cleaned everything out and still will not work. Do you think it is the motor ? many thanks

Usually the motor when it starts to fail will splutter for a period before stopping but sometimes an internal fuse may blow. To identify the cause you will need to measure the resistance across the motor with a meter. This should typically be less than 100 ohms or the motor has failed.
i want to buy a new motor from you for a DC33 animal and am a qualified elec engnr but am told you cant give instructions as to how to find clips etc., for removal and refitting the motor-this is incredible and not a plus for your company-so it looks like i will have to go elsewhere for info yours dave all i need from you is info to remove and refit not how to electrically connect - i did it when i changed a clutch from you a few years back with no quibble and excellent results-so why not now??

It is not that we do not wish to help but rarely have information from manufacturers other than an exploded parts list and without access to the machine in question are unable to give specific advice on your problem. The only 'help' we can offer on this occasion is to suggest you view some of our 'similar' Dyson videos as they may give examples of hidden clips and disassembly methods.
