Featuring Honeywell's ActivLink™ technology that uses an 868 MHz frequency, it provides 20% wider range, 20% improved battery life and a consistent connection with no interference, making the doorbell efficient and reliable. With a reliable wireless range of up to 150m, while the maximum volume of 84dB can be heard up to 80m away.
The Series 5 Wireless Plug-In Door Chime Kit gives visual alerts thanks to its innovative Halo Light and LED Strobe that provides discreet but effective visual alerts which complement your chosen melody in loud environments, or helps to alert you when the doorbell can't be heard. Its Nightlight mode can also provide a soft, comforting glow to guide your way in the dark. With adjustable volume and innovative Sleep/Mute mode, which mutes the doorbell indefinitely, or for a prescribed period of 3, 6, 9 or 12 hours, your family can relax free from disturbances during movie nights or nap times.

It should be all right to use but the maximum range is likely to be reduced.
I live in an old house with solid brick and rubble in-fill walls, approx 20" thick. With the sounder plugged in an internal socket 12 metres distant from the push button, how reliable could I expect?

We cannot confirm if this would be suitable for your application as this has a maximum range of 150 metres but going through walls may significantly reduce this.
