You only need the carbon filter if you are recirculating the air back into the room but if it is vented directly to the outside you do not need it.

On this type of filter, there is a screw through the centre that has to be removed and the filter will drop out, place the new filter in its place and refit the screw.
Do I need to change this if I already have a sheet carbon filter fitted behind the grease filter? 1 Answer

I have just purchased one of these because it is supposedly compatible with my cooker hood. However it is not clear how to fit it. Our cooker hood is a Moffat MCH 660W. How do we fit it? 1 Answer
