If your washer has not been heating as well as it should, you may need to replace the dryer element. The heater element is a vital component of your washer dryer, as without it clothes take much longer to dry!

HOTPOINT WDF740 washes ok but keeps showing f13 with flashing lights on the drying cycle and stops working and then door unlocks. 2 Answers
- I have just bought a washer/dryer as above and it came with a new sensor fitted, still flashed F13, i checked the fan, it seemed stiff, freed it off and now everything works great.

The error F13 is to indicate a dryer sensor (ntc) problem. Whilst it is possible that it could be another fault it is highly likely in this case to be Stock Number: ES663906 fitted on the right side of the dryer heater assembly on the top of the tub.
- FIRSTY ISOLATE THE MACHINE The element on the WDD960 is located in the top of the machine, Undo the 2 screws securing the lid to the dryer and slide back and off, You will see the element housing, Undo the 7 smaller Torx screws and prise the top away (carefully as there are wires connected) next dissconnect the element cables (Pink & blue wires). Undo the 2 brass nuts and remove the element, Just reverse the proccess to refit.

Hi there, the element is situated at the rear of the dryer. First you'll need to unscrew and remove all clips from the protruding cover on the back panel of the dryer. You should then see a metal fan as well as another cover. The element it situated underneath this cover. Remove it, and uncouple the old element from all the wires and fittings. The dryer in the video is a lot more basic than yours, but hopefully the process involved should help you understand your dryer a little better.
- when mine packed in on our indisit washer/dryer nothing would work, everytime i switch it on it would trip the power. i tried too not us the element thinking i would be able too use the washer only but the machine went awire. so i think it does heat your water up as well, plus it was damp when i opened the section up.

No, the heating element is the part that actually provides the heat. How much of it is controlled by the thermostat though. See our advice centre for more information.
Hi. Machine is working fine apart from not drying clothes in dryer cycle. When using dryer at weekend, main trip went on house electrics. reset trip and all ok other than not drying when tried since. Having read numerous articles, suggestions are it could be a problem with Dryer Heating element, Thermostat, Capacitor or PCB. Any suggestions on which to check first? Does tripping power suggest one ahead of another? There's no flashing lights or error messages showing. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Check the dryer element Stock Number: ES1562468. The resistance should be around sixty ohms.
I've checked the water filter and for broken wires, but the dryer still doesn't dry. Before I order a new heating element, is there anything else that could be causing the problem? The machine isn't two years old yet! 1 Answer
- Before getting a new dryer element do a continuety test on the element if this fails then the element needs replacing ie- con test is being able to pass a small currant from one terminal to the other or use a test meter with this facility
