Old Motor has mains cable - brown and blue wires. The brown wire is crimped onto a black wire before connection to old motor. On new motor does the black wire need to come off from mains brown wire. Can the motor terminals be connected to the mains in any order as no colour code is specified.

It does not matter in this case if the connections are reverses at the motor as being an AC motor it will continue to turn in the same direction.
