Dishwasher Upper Spray Arm Fixing Nut

If you've noticed the upper spray arm in your dishwasher is tilted, or won't turn properly, the fixing nut could be the cause. The seal over time, becomes worn, preventing the spray arm rotating as normal. This spare will have the spray arm locked securely in place, so there's no need to worry about it falling off.

Please Note: This includes the seal.

Genuine spare part suitable for select models of Indesit, Ariston and Hotpoint dishwashers.

I'm going to need one of these, cos the seal is shredded on mine, does this part just unscrew and screw back in? I've tried gently undoing mine, but it's not budging, didn't want to try too much force and break it! Thanks ed.

  • I had the same problem. In the end I took a pair of mole-grips to it and it came away easily. It's highly unlikely you@ll break it with a bit of force - they are tightly fitted to maintain pressure. Go for it. By banjoman1 - Norfolk - 25 May 2010
  • Get a pair of long nose pliers or mole grips and gently turn just to break up any verdigris around nut By davedjd - PORTSMOUTH - 11 May 2010
  • I have replaced this seal nut - mine was also very tight and I had to use a Mole Wrench to get it off. However it just unscrews, and the new one screws back on, as you would hope. I also replaced the spray arm as the seal on this was also perished, and now things are working perfectly. By jake90uk - Abergavenny - 18 April 2010
  • Yes it does unscrew and it is on tight, you will need a the help of a pair of grips just do it gently and it will unscrew nicely. By veryfoxey - Ellesmere port - 26 February 2010
  • Yes, just unscrew the old damaged one and screw in the new part. Don't worry about breaking the old seal 'cos you just bin it anyway. The new part is a complete replacement. If it is very tight you could try loosening it gently with a plumber's tap wrench. Access to to do this is easier if you take out the top dish rack. In most dishwashers you simply undo the clips at the front of the telescopic rails and withdraw the rack runners. By diydeemon - Northern Ireland - 10 February 2010

  • Yes By davedjd - PORTSMOUTH - 11 May 2010
  • Yes you are definitely on the right track here. From your pictures I would say that is the faulty part to be replaced with new fixing nut with seal. That outlet feeds water into your top spray arm and the rubber seal needs to be a good tight fit to get best water pressure. By diydeemon - Northern Ireland - 10 February 2010

Take out the basket and check for blockages in the tube or spray arms and make sure the tube connects to the back of the machine when the drawer is pushed back in.
