The thermocouple keeps the flame lit but the FSD allows the flame to rise if this is gone you will need a Gas safe technician to test after replacing it.
my oven will not heat up to over 160 degrees i changed the thermostat but still the same i noticed that the flame isn't rising as high as it did should i change the thermocouple also? or is there something im missing? many thanks 1 Answer

If the flame is not rising it is likely to be the FSD, it is recommended that any part that breaks a gas joint must be replaced by a qualified gas safe technician as it has to be checked for leaks after the repair.
does it keep the oven lit after the ignition??? thanks

Hi Rjb1957, there's many causes of your problem. I wouldn't be able to tell what it was unless I could see your oven, sorry.
