Hi, I followed the video tutorial but my Hoover HMA300x when you cut away the old rubber does not have a ridge. When i received this part it had a trim which was for clipping to the ridge. But my fridge doesn't have one. Hoover and espares have said this is the right part. I'm stuck, anyone got any advise? Would be much appreciate it.

  • Hi Rory, Thanks for getting back to me. The old Seal is fitted by having its trim glued and heated to the white panel part of the inside of the door, which is then attached to the the door itself. Obviously I've cut the old one away but part of it remains glued into the back of the white panel which is attached to the door. I tried pulling away the white panel but it will break its not designed for it to be removed as its been glued in. I spoke to Hoover who told me this, She said their engineers don't even replace the seal they replace the door because its just not possible to attach a new seal because of the way the original seal is fitted in the factory. Its very frustrating as the fridge has not a scratch on it works fine. The old seal was just a little ripped so I thought I'd replace it, following the video thinking it was straight forward. I now have no working fridge. Don't know what to do to be honest. By freezing nightmare - - 02 December 2010

Hi freezing nightmare. What I would advise is taking a look at how the old seal attached to the door - this should give you some clue about how the new one fits. Best of luck.
