I can't get the spring to stay in place when I try to push the hob control knob back into place. Is there a pin to hold it on to the inside of the knob? thanks!

The spring will sit between the knob and the bezel and should stay in place once it is fitted back onto the switch.

You will need to remove the knob to get to the spring they will usually pull off and then replace the spring.
