If the door seal is damaged it will be harder for the oven to reach and maintain the correct temperature and as a result the element will run for longer and hotter. If the thermostat doesn't cut out even on a lower temperature ie 100C then it is likely to be faulty as well.
when i put cooker on at wall main oven light comes on even although i havent switched oven on and heats to maximum or higher temperature, if i take oven nob off and push temp nob down oven goes off . could it be a loose connection??????????
