Tumble Dryer Heater Element - 2000 Watts Stock Number: ES1494803
Genuine spare part for select models of Electrolux and Zanussi tumble dryers
My Zanussi dryer stopped heating. We tested the heating element and thermostats for continuity as well as for flow when plugged in and they tested ok. However the element will only slightly warm up upon starting a program (for about 30 sec) and go off again. It doesn't even glow or anything. Will replacing it work or is there some other fault elsewhere to be looked at? Thanks.

Would I need to replace the heating element and thermostat.

If the dryer is not heating up then it is likely to be the element, check the element for any signs of damage and meter it to confirm it has failed. The new element comes with the thermostats fitted to the assembly.
Only half of the element come on, then after around 15 secs the element goes off altogether ??

If the heater cover is off the element will cut out as it overheats. It suggests one element is faulty.
I have taken the top off my Zanussi and some of the heating elements glow for about 10 seconds at a time then go off. There is some heat but not enough to dry clothes. Is this the element that is going?

No, If there is a thermostat above the element and there is not sufficient air flow as you have removed the cover. Then the thermostat will cut off the power to the element as it is overheating without the air flow. This is likely to come back on as it cools.
My tumble dryer is not heating up & blowing out cold air . I checked thermostats - both are ok . Heating elements go red on start up but go off after about 5 seconds , i am not sure if this should or should not happen . 1 Answer

If this is a condenser dryer check that the water is being cleared from the reservoir as many condenser dryers have a float switch to stop the heating to prevent overflowing when full.

There are two elements in this assembly to allow low or high heat settings. a problem with the thermostat or cut out would stop either from heating. It is more likely one of these elements has burnt out.
Will this part fit my appliance?
