We believe you will need to test the compressor before suspecting anything else.
I have had a look at the thermostat model in there at the moment and it is WDF28Y-L

This part cannot be fitted, Your correct part is Stock Number: ES1775472
Fridge does not get cold, no noise from motor, nothing happens when you turn the thermostat control knob, silence.

The correct thermostat is Stock Number ES208996 If the compressor is cold when touched the thermostat may be faulty.

No, your appliance uses a control board Stock Number ES1247946 and a sensor foamed into the insulation that cannot be replaced.
1. Will this part replace the thermostat on my Indesit CAA55 Fridge Freezer? 2. If I switch the power off/on the fridge starts to cool and the radiator at the back goes warm. Then the fridge stops cooling and the radiator becomes room temperature. Does this sound like the thermostat? Any help will be appreciated. Regards George

We believe it is unlikely to be the thermostat, check the defrost system and whether the compressor is running ok before suspecting anything else.
I have a Proline PC226A and thought Bulb had blown. Changing the bulb did not work. There does seem a slight problem with the temperature where I have to have on 5-6 to get Fridge cold ( Freezer seems ok). Would the thermostat affect the lighting system? 1 Answer

Hi If there is no light in the fridge and you have changed the bulb it is worth checking the bulb holder, the thermostat would not normally be related to this fault

A faulty thermostat may cause the motor to stop and not restart when more cold is required. If this is happening then replace the thermostat.
