Product Q&A

Ask a Question

I have a bosch oven (model number hbn13n550b), the appliance works fine however the temperature knob of the main fan oven now moves circa 25 to 30 degrees before operating. This obviously makes setting the temperature very difficult. Is this part likely to tbe the part I need. (I have examined the knob itself and everything is working correctly). If it is the replacement part I need how easy is it to replace, i.e does it need soldering or can it simply be plugged in to replace the defective part?

Answer for MKA. This is the correct part for your appliance. Check the oven temperature first before worrying about any movement or 'play' of the knob.

  • I have the same issue as above. The correct part model is HBN13M550B/3 (M not N). Is the part number the correct one for the lower oven? By MKA - Northants - 28 July 2015

Sorry we do not give out technical advice unfortunately. Please speak to an engineer regarding this query. Also, you may need to re-check your model details as hbn13n550b is not the full model number of your appliance. Hopefully this link can help you: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx

Answer this question

Light stays on for up to 45 mins and then comes on again at frequent intervals at all temperature settings. Fan appears to run continuously. Door seal (from you) replaced with no improvement. Food is not completely cooked in times specified in recipes. Might this indicate faulty thermostat or element?

If the light goes on and off when it reaches the correct temperature then it suggests the thermostat is ok, the fact you are saying the food is cooking would also suggest the element is working. you would need to check and test the element to identify if it is failing during cooking to be sure.

If the knob is ok then it can only be the thermostat behind it.

You will need to check the knob first to see if it has broken as that is most likely.

Suspect another element in the cavity (grill?) before changing the thermostat.
