Can the washing machine sensor cause the house mains to trip.

Siemens model no. WM14E162GB. Brushes checked OK, cleaned filter, got a circuit on heater element. Sensor reads 004 set at 2000k ohms. Would this be correct?

The sensor sounds like it is ok. The fault is likely to be the heating element as these can fail and trip the earth breaker. For more information see our video: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/7/1794/how-to-diagnose-a-faulty-washing-machine-heater
