Split the drum ok but the bearings are not coming out any help grate fully accepted

Knocking the bearings out with a drift and hammer can damage the drum. Professionals use a bearing puller that passes a bolt through the centre of the bearing and a cup that fits across the drum face. By tightening the bolt it draws the bearing out into the chamber of the cup. Try phoning tool hire shops if you cannot fabricate something to do the job.
Looking at the drum movement and noise in my 7kg LG, I assume my bearings are shot. Have'nt taken apart yet, can see no belt so assume direct drive, how easy is it to replace bearings and do I need front and back bearings as well as seal to replace. Not a bad diyer.

Hi Jaffa, replacing washing machine bearings is a tough job. You'll need to take the back of the machine off - there should be a belt back there on a pulley - you'll need to remove both. From there you'll be able to access the bearings, however they may be riveted in, which makes it a very difficult task replacing them. Hi fixer, replacing bearings is a big task. It involves removing the drum pulley, which is usually riveted on to the drum. is it easy to change all the bearings on this unit, been quoted stupid prices , even told bearings unavailable, have good diy knowledge

Hi gren, replacing is not an easy task, but if you believe yourself proficient in fixing it yourself then it is achievable. You'll need to remove the back panel from the machine, then remove the belt and pulley. The bearing should be situated under there - it will be either bolted in or riveted in. If riveted, you have a bit of a problem trying to put it back together. What I'd recommend is just removing the panels from your washer and having a look - they are deceptively simple appliances.
