Chris asked for the hob model number but the number I identified was not accepted on your order page as a valid model number. The only information visible on the Neff cooker hob is, 'Ceran Schott 5650039750'. I note from one of your published reviews that a customer had the same issue with the aperture at the back of the knob[ shape at right angles to fitting] but used the knob anyway with the 'on' position being off and vice-versa. Would it be safe to use the knob in this way?

If the knob is 180 degrees out (points bottom not top) you could mark with a paint or nail varnish a new indicator mark and cover the old. The model number under the hob will show a group of letters and numbers like T2124N1EU/01 If you find this in the instructions or underneath you can order the correct knob.
The half-oval hole to fit to cooker is at right angles to the part to which it needs to be attached. Do you stock these knobs with the half-oval hole positioned so that the the straight edge is horizontal and at the top? I cannot identify the model number on the Neff hob.
