I have used a moth killer spray containing transfluthrin twice now, and taken the piano apart as much as I can, but there are so many places for them to hide, eg under the keys, and still they come back. Also hung a supposed moth killer thing in it, but it made no difference.

There is a warning: Treated room must be cleared of people, plants, animals and fish before use.
I am concerned about the safety as unlike a room, stairs cannot be closed up. I also have a cat. Must he be kept away from area and if so for how long?

This product is likely to be unsuitable as you cannot contain the smoke to make it contact the pests for long enough to kill them.
Cockroaches appeared inside a built in wardrobe in our holiday apartment. Can this product be placed into the wardrobe and do all items need to be removed prior to use.

The item burns like an indoor firework so therefore must be clear from any combustible materials. if used in a wardrobe the room must be well ventilated after use.
We have pet fleas in our sitting room which has furniture, books, cd's dvd's etc, all the usual things in a living area. Would it be ok to use it in there or should I empty the book case and remove all the media?

Insects will only be killed if contacting the smoke so may not be suitable in a area with a lot of restricted access.

It is likely that most if not all crawling or fling insects that contact this smoke will be killed.
what are the active components? is it safe around food?

Once the area has been correctly ventilated it is not toxic but should neither be used near food or preparation surfaces without thorough cleaning after use. The main active ingredient is Permethrin.
The loft has a small floored area and deep insulation around the remaining parts. Would insulation be a fire hazard with the product? The loft could not be easily ventilated as there is only a drop down hatch. Is this a problem?
