No, this requires the a very hot surface to stand on to conduct the heat to the electric generating layer or it will not turn.
I see you sell spare blades, how long is this fan likely to last before it needs a new blade? 1 Answer

Sorry we do not have information on this, as it depends on usage.

This would work on a hot hotplate but if you have an insulated cover over the plate it would not work on the cover.
I have 23cm between the stove and the top of the fireplace. Is this sufficient for the fan blade to rotate freely or does the blade extend higher than the 21cm quoted? 1 Answer

We believe the fan should work correctly with the dimensions stated, however the blade is in a fixed position.
I have a high lounge 3.3 mtrs. & when I stand up I notice the heats there, but it struggles to circulate.

As this unit works from the conduction of the heat through the base to a device that converts this to electricity. We do not think there will be sufficient temperature difference to turn the fan efficiently so believe this product would not be suitable.
could this work sat in FRONT of an open fire? Or does it gain its rotating energy from the base contact with the hot stove casing? 1 Answer

This requires a hot surface to pass the heat to a device that produce electricity so would need to directly sit on a very hot surface.

This fan is meant to stand on the top of a cast iron wood burner where the surface gets to hot to touch as this heat actually is used to produce electricity. The fan has a small chrome wire handle that should allow it to be lifted off safely even if hot.

This will work when placed on a very hot surface like the top of a wood burner but to work correctly the surface must get hotter than can be touched with a bare hand.
