Washing Machine & Dishwasher Cold Water Fill Hose - 1.5m Stock Number: ES479537
1.5 metre long inlet hose to fit most washing machines and dishwashers
- Washing machine and dishwasher hoses do need to be WRAS approved if no double check valve is installed because the rubber compounds in some hoses contaminate the water in the pipes which in turn feeds into the taps for drinking water... Which is why from time to time some people report foul tasting water from their tap because the hoses have introduced a contaminant into the water. So either need WRAS compliant hoses or a double check valve installed to prevent back flow of water.

As this regulation applies to water for human consumption and this is a hose designed for the supply to a washing machine we do not think that this needs to be WRAS approved or is suitable for drinking water. If you are concerned about this we suggest you fit a non return valve to the water tap and for more information see: http://dwi.defra.gov.uk/stakeholders/conferences-seminars/reg31-workshop/wras.pdf
Will the hose fit my washing machine ?

Universal parts are suitable for most appliances and do not have a specific 'fit list'. If your appliance matches the specifications in the description, this item will be suitable.
Is the hose the standard size which comes with machines how long is it in inches

This has standard hose connections suitable for most machines and is approximately 60 inches in length.
just got a new dishwasher and we think the hose will kink and not supply water properly

The hose is flexible but can kink if bent sharply.
This older washer has a hot and cold feed, but I only need a cold feed hose. Many thanks.

This hose is suitable but if you have a hot fill machine you should supply the hot inlet as well using Stock Number: ES509976
Reason for the question is that I recently replaced the worn out and leaking original hose on our 5 year old Bosch Speed Perfect with one from B and Q. The result is a chlorine taste in our drinking water. A search on the water company website suggests that this is attributable to the chlorine in the tap water reacting with the rubber in the hose and that only WRAS accredited hoses should be used. Thanks Andy

This hose is suitable for most washing machine and dishwashers but should not be used for supplying drinking water through.
