Product Q&A

Ask a Question

I have a Creda TVR2 tumble dryer and one of the thermostats is open circuit. I intend replacing both thermostats, but neither has any markings. One has an orange wire connected to both terminals - and the other has a blue and a black wire connected to one terminal and a blue wire to the other terminal. I understand the replacement kit has a 1 x 120dC and a 150dC. Do these go in any of the positions, or do they go in a specific position. Thanks

It is important on dryers to replace the thermostats correctly as one is a cycling thermostat and the other will be a safety cut out thermostat.

Answer this question

I have an indesit IDV65(UK) tumble dryer which I think might be getting too hot. At the start of the cycle the drum appears to rotate OK but when the dryer gets hot it starts to rotate more slowly. Is there a way I can test the thermostats to ensure they are operating at the correct temperatures ? What temperatures should the two thermostats open at ? Thanks

  • Thermostats on tumble driers, in normal conditions, are always closed but during a time when it starts to overheat, as when the airways are blocked for example, it will open circuit to cut off the heating elements. Hope that helps. By SimonT - - 28 November 2011
