ive got a hotpoint tvm570, ive recently replaced the drum bearing due to the noise it was making, that all went well and now theres no noise, the dryer is still drying clothes, and I hovered it all out when I replaced the other part but not the whole dryer seems to be getting really hot when in use?? I have no idea why, so was wondering if anyone had any ideas what this could be thanks.
- Remove the bottom filter (the one you can wash out) and then shine a torch at the back of the housing. There might be a build up of damp fluff that you will have to remove by hand - there should not be any sharp edges but wear a pair of rubber gloves to make sure you do not get cuts or nicks. I removed the LH side of my CTD00P dryer and was able to get my hand in to remove the fluff.

There is no insulation for the drum and heat will build inside the dryer. However if the air flow is restricted by fluff in the filter or condenser or a blocked vent pipe all the heat and air will be forced into the case from around the drum seal. Check the air ways and pipes are clear and the seals to the drum at the back and front are both in good order. if they are the heat may just be normal.

- Before buying a new tumble dryer element, try resetting the thermostat on the one you have. To do this, unscrew the cover on the back of the tumble dryer, then remove the two screws holding the element to the cover. Look at the "black" (rather than the silver) side of the thermostat. One of the two "buttons" has a small hole in it. Insert a pin in the hole and push down. If you hear a "click", then the thermostat has been reset. Re-attach the element to the cover and the cover to the dryer. The dryer should now blow hot air when operating.
Indesit keeps blowing cold air if I put a big load in it trips the thermostat again which I have to keep resetting and not it just blows cold air wont evan let me reset the thermostat will I need the heating element or a new thermostat ? 1 Answer

I have disconnected the heating element and it doesn't Tripp. With the heating element connected but not attached to the back of the dryer I can see the elements heating up and the dryer runs but as soon as I attaché it back to the back of the dryer it trips the electric immediately .

Thump middle front of the top with the palm of your hand to push it back and unlock from the sides.
I know what caused the problem, it was a bra bone that got caught in the drum, the drum goes round smoothly but the air is very cold. Hubby took the back off and had a look but all he said was that the elements had an awful lot of fluff on them and he says we need new elements, Do we??? would appreciate any advice thank you

I have a indesit condenser dryer idc75(uk). I have just changed the heating elements and thermostats and all worked fine for two days, however the water light has come on and the water tray is empty also it's blowing cold air. What can be the problem 1 Answer

Water is not being removed from the reservoir at the back and the float switch has turned the heater off to prevent flooding. Check the pump (Stock Number: ES1024993) and for blockages to the container.
i just replaced the stat and element on my hotpoint vtd00 but it's still not heating. i've checked all wires etc and everything else seems fine but i'm wondering if theres an internal fuse/switch i need to reset? the belt had gone when i inherited the machine so i wonder if it'd overheated before due to not spinning and needs resetting somehow?

This dryer will only heat if the timer is set to over ten minutes as the last ten it turns cooling and removing the heat from the drum. There are no other cut outs or thermostats but if stopped hot it can trip out the thermostat as the heat is not disbursed by the fan.
How do i check the thermostats on my heater element,can you tell me please. indesit is70c

A thermostat is basically a closed switch that opens when heat reaches a predetermined temperature. They should measure short or low resistance until the operating temperature is reached.
My tumble dryer starts but will automatically stop after 10 mins. I have cleaned thourougly all if the places I can get to but still keeps cutting out. Can you tell me what needs replacing please? Many thanks

There may be many reasons for this but the main causes are not heating and not emptying the water from the reservoir if it is a condenser dryer. If you still cannot diagnose the problem let me know any fault code and the full model and I may be able to help further.
