Hi Biffo1951, there is a wide variety of causes of this problem. My advice to you is to ask someone in the know to cast their eye over the machine itself and give you a hand.

Answer this question

I have an Hotpoint Ultima 1000 model WM26P. The bearings are noisy. Is it easy to replace them? Does the drum have to completely come out the front of the machine? The rubber seal also needs replacing between the drum and body of machine. Do I have to unclip the front off the drum to releace the seal and then pull the drum out to get at the bearings. Do i ned any special tools? Do I need to remove the front of the machine body? Thanks. I have just ordered part ES481678 to do the job. Her indoors has all ready got the door seal and the tools ready.

  • To replace the bearings you must take the drum out. To pull out the old bearings is a bit complicated: 1- You can use a ballbearing extractor ( very difficult to find in any shop ) or 2 - Hammer and chisul taking care to not damage the drum area. In most cases is also better to change the spider assembly. To complete the job would take 2 or 3 hours. By IlConte - London - 17 January 2009

Hi Bebby I can't match the Liberator 1826 in our database of Hotpoint washing machines, however there is a 1827 model. If you could double check your washing machine for the model number we would be happy to find the right bearing and seal kit for you.
