- I took the head off and blew hard into the air pipe and the unit started up first time

- I was determined to fix this and not throw the cleaner away as it was quite new and is great. Read all the tips and suggestions and just before stripping down the unit I wacked it reasonably hard on the case by the switch just in case the motor /switch was stuck after a period of not using it. Guess what. Is going strong again.
- Took the Karcher apart and found the fan had stuck, pushed it around a couple of times then put the cover back together tried the switch it operated the machine. Put screws back in. Has been ok.
- Had the same problem with the WV60 model. Proceeded by the instructions provided by Mike James. Switch was found to be OK, so tapped the motor casing fairly hard with a screwdriver and the motor started. Problem was possibly caused by not using the machine for a lengthy period of time (9 months) and brushes sticking. Hope that helps....
- If you remove the black butt plate (4 screws) then the rest of the casing screws. Split the casing and remove the suction tube, you will need to lift the motor slightly to do this. Then carefully lift out the switch, open the back of it, a rubber flap, gently lift the little board that is underneath and exercise the little brass spring switch assembly, ( seems to get stuck in on position ). Then reassemble the whole thing, reverse of dismantle. Mine now works fine.
- Hi I have had 2 window vacs and both of them won't turn on the battery is charged they are a waste of money only work a few times then they don't work. Have they got a trip switch on them. That I don't know about if they work they are good. Mrs P.Johnson

Unfortunately motors switches or batteries are not currently available for your Karcher window vac.
Have taken 2 back already doing the same thing
- My WV50 wouldn't switch on and while halfway through dismantling the cleaner it switched on and wouldn't go off. I finally tracked down the fault to the switch. There's a tiny push button surface mounted switch that's sat on a PCB under that rubber on/off button. It's soldered to the PCB. The WV50 must have been dropped (no admissions by anyone) as it disconnected all the connections and left the button switch free to rattle. With a bit of jiggling it does make a connection and will switch on. Jiggle it a bit more and you can't switch it off. I was just going to re-solder the switch back to the PCB. However, there's a tiny (and I meant tiny) white piece of plastic floating around inside the switch too. It has equally tiny wires in it and it may be a thermal fuse or some other thing. That's why I've stopped to have a long think for the moment. These switches DO seem to fail and there's no reason why they can't be available as a spare.

It is important to try and prevent water entering the case as it may cause corrosion on the electrics. This can result in many electrical problems from not starting, or randomly starting itself. If this occurs try drying out in a warm environment.
- Mine is doing the same I just woke up in the early hours to hear it keeps switching itself on , I've only had it for 4 months , does anybody else know any reasons why , I haven't used it for a few weeks .

Try emptying any water and leaving in a dry place as if water gets to the electrics it may cause this problem.
My karcher window vac is fully charged, it runs for a few seconds after turning on, but then stops and the green light starts blinking. It does the same thing when turned on after being turned off. There is a grinding noise coming from it, not sure if it's related.
- The fan has become loose on the motor spindle and has moved forward to rub against the housing.

The grinding noise may be coming from the motor, this product is not made to be dismantled so if under guarantee contact Karcher.
Only used it about eight times since we bought it.
- If the battery voltage drops to less than 1.5 volts or so, it will not recharge. However, you can "reawaken" lithium batteries by applying a suitable voltage directly from another power source e.g in this case, another 3v battery. To do so you will have to disassemble the Karcher to get at the battery, then apply the voltage direct to the battery terminals. A few minutes is all that is required to lift the voltage to the point where it can be recharged in the normal manner. I have just carried out this procedure on my own unit with success.

If the batteries have been allowed to fully discharge and left they may not recharge. The batteries for the window vac are not supplied by Karcher.
- Did this work? I just bought one today and it's doing exactly the same thing after first use. Plugged in to the charger when it ran flat and then, after charging for 10 minutes, it turned itself on and won't turn off!

Try leaving in a warm environment as water may have got to the electrics causing the problem. It may take a while to dry out so may discharge first.
Just purchased a Karcher WV1 and have fully charged it but the on/off button is almost impossible to depress. Is this a fault or are all Karcher switches difficult to operate? 1 Answer

It is likely to be the battery that has failed, Unfortunately, batteries are not currently available for your Karcher window vac.
My Karcher WV50, has water coming out of the motor vents when I use it, any suggestions on how to fix it! 1 Answer

The red light will normally slowly flash continually until the battery is fully charged. It can take on average 2 hours for the battery to fully charge from empty. Once the battery is fully charged, the light will become solid. It may be a battery or charger issue.
